Biography
Dr. Abhishek Tiwari is a super-specialist in Medical and Hemato-Oncology, whose journey in the field of cancer care reflects a blend of academic brilliance, dedicated clinical practice, and compassionate patient engagement.
After completing his MBBS from the prestigious Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Dr. Tiwari began his early oncology exposure at two of India’s leading institutions — the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, and Fortis Memorial Research Institute, Gurugram, where he worked as a junior-resident in the Department of Oncology between 2016 and 2017. These formative years cemented his passion for cancer medicine and inspired him to pursue a lifelong commitment to oncology.
He went on to complete his MD in Radiation Oncology from AMU, where he gained expertise in the multimodal management of cancers — combining radiotherapy with chemotherapy and systemic therapies. During this period, he actively participated in academic research and was recognized for his clinical acumen and leadership among peers.
Driven by a desire to further refine his understanding of systemic cancer therapy, Dr. Tiwari pursued DM in Medical Oncology at IMS Bhubaneswar, one of Eastern India’s most reputed centers for cancer
research and advanced oncology training. Here, he developed deep expertise in chemotherapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy, and precision oncology, managing complex and rare malignancies across solid and hematologic cancers.
His clinical journey also included invaluable exposure at Delhi State Cancer Institute, one of the highest-volume oncology hospitals in the country, and SGPGI Lucknow, where he observed and documented advanced cancer treatment protocols. This diverse institutional experience gave him a well-rounded understanding of oncology care — from resource-limited setups to tertiary super-specialty centers.
Currently, Dr. Abhishek Tiwari serves as a Consultant in Medical Oncology at Regency Hospital, Kanpur, where he leads independent oncology services and mentors Dr. NB Medical Oncology residents in clinical decision-making and research methodology.
His academic contributions include multiple publications in national and international journals, focusing on innovations in cancer therapeutics, precision medicine, and biomarker-driven treatment strategies. His work on low-dose nivolumab and molecular subtyping in lung cancer has been recognized at global platforms, earning him the Best Poster Award at ESMO Asia (Singapore) and a Travel Fellowship from the Asian Society of Oncology (Xi’an, China).
